The name “Val Sainte” has a few meanings behind it. The goal was to create a brand in honor of my mom, Elizabeth. Her maiden name begins with the letter Val which means valley in French. “Sainte” translates to holy and can be used to describe a holy person who has been officially recognized by a Christian church, especially the Roman Catholic Church, for living a good and holy life. For example, Elizabeth Seton was the first American to be made a saint by the Roman Catholic Church.
"Saint" can also refer to a good, kind, and patient person. For example, "His mother was a saint to everyone who knew her".
Holy, sacred, or blessed. For example, "the Holy Bible" or "the Blessed Virgin". "Saint" can also mean good, pure, or following the rules of religion. For example, "a holy life". In my eyes my mother is a Saint, with the purest intentions and the most innocent heart she would always do anything for her family.
My mother and father came to the US from Guyana to seek a better life, then her father got sick. He asked her to promise to bring her family to America and away from those living conditions, and she did just that. One by one her 6 siblings, Mom being the youngest daughter; made their way to America to begin their new lives.
I’ve watched my mom sacrifice her happiness and carry the burdens of everyone with the sole purpose of making sure her kids and family are good, so now I want to do my best to repay her and pay it forward.
Val Sainte also means The Holy Valley, which is the Kadisha Valley in Lebanon with a very deep value is Christianity.
